Big Littleton Fall Foliage

Friday, October 14, 2016

We're almost a month into Fall and this hilltop home in New Hampshire is looking even more fabulous with foliage! In these photos you can see how a landscape changes not only with the season but also with time of day; here at Landshapes we're always considering how our work will look year round in sun or shade.

Dartmouth Visual Art Center, Completed

Monday, September 10, 2012

The Dartmouth Visual Arts Center project turned out beautifully and we are excited to share the images with you. It is really astounding to look at the photos from early in the construction process and now see the lush green grass, the granite and wooden benches, as well as the skillfully laid granite curbs and pavers. We included a before image so you could see for yourself, what an amazing job the crew did on this very technical installation.

Dartmouth Visual Art Center, Phase 3

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

This third phase of the project consisted of street tree planting and bollard installation.  Our crew completed the sizable tree planting at night under lights. They were able to work more efficiently with fewer contractors on site.  The large granite bollards were carefully set in place using heavy equipment.

Dartmouth Visual Art Center, Phase 2

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

Here is an aerial view of the Dartmouth Visual Art Center at the end of construction phase 2. Our crew of four guys has worked double shifts using light towers to complete this phase of the installation on schedule. It is amazing to think of all the work our crew has completed in such a tight space. Everyone on the crew who hasn't been a part of this process is excited to see the finished landscape! We have all heard a lot about each and every aspect of the project and it is going to be beautiful. The crew also received the second and third loads out of eight total (+/- 180 cubic yards), of sand based structural soils for phase 3. We have imported approximately 650 cubic yards of four types of soil for the project. It is incredible to think of the amount of material that is brought in to complete each and every large scale installation.

Landscape installation is always one of the last steps in the construction of a new facility. The Landshapes crew is enjoying its contribution to a beautiful new academic building on the Dartmouth College campus. The photo below shows our work installing some all-critical drainage at the nearly completed Dartmouth Visual Arts Center
