residential landscape design, curved stone wall, outdoor stone fire pit

Every plant is different; each one has unique conditions in which it thrives. Other than the numerous considerations needed to plant the right plant in the right spot (amount of sun, water, soil type etc.) another thing to consider is the intended function of the plant. This can be as basic as making sure the plant works aesthetically with its surroundings, or more complex like choosing plants to absorb excess water or that will not fall prey to hungry deer.

The depth in which a tree is planted is very important to the tree’s future health. If a tree gets planted too deeply, such as in image A, it can die. Some of our crew is working on a new project, a barn on the lake! Monolithic natural cleft bluestone slabs are being used to create walkways and patios that match the large scale of the property. Sod will be installed in the joints to create a rustic informal look.

Our masons also masterfully pieced together split face fieldstone steps to create large continuous stair treads leading into this lake barn which will be used to host events with its amazing view up Lake Champlain.
